Welcome! Read a little about our Farm before your next visit...
Come visit us and explore the farm, meet the many farm animals that live here, see the variety of food plants, and look into the world of life in the pond. Treat our growing foods as food on the shelf at a grocery store, and be sure to ask someone before touching or feeding any animals! Our mission is to grow and protect local food systems, while providing visitors with a chance to experience farm life and understand the unique and beautiful animals and ecosystems in Southlands.
If you see someone pulling weeds, sorting pumpkins, or digging a hole - offer to help out! We're a community farm, so when you're here, we'd rather you thought of yourself as a fellow farmer and not a visitor to a park. We run a number of fun skills based workshops, field trips, events, and camps for all ages. Please explore our website to see what's going on!
Remember: We are a working farm with all the associated learning experiences. Keep kids close. And be respectful of all the animals and plants.
We'd rather be outside farming than updating this website... so join our mailing list (below) for infrequent updates on sweet events for you, the kids, or the family.
Running an educational farm in the city isn't easy. And it isn't cheap either. But we make it work with dirty hands and a thrifty, re-use it, farmer attitude. If you have any of the below items we would LOVE the donation and Sweater the sheep has volunteered her nuzzles of appreciation. Please, nothing made of plastic though. Drop em off in the office!
MASON JARS! We need sooooo many please.
Trowels, shovels, and garden tools.
Old T-shirts of all sizes and colours
5 million dollars to buy the neighbours property and expand the farm and build a school
Climbing holds for our hayloft climbing wall
Instruments, shakers, hand drums
Woodworking tools such as hammers, handsaws, screws, nails, etc.
Sheet metal roofing
Friday Farm Markets July & August, 11am to 4pm
Explore the farm with your family, meet all the animals, and do your shopping for seasonal produce. Our Young Farmers will be running their own parallel farm market and they will be offering farm tours. We have local Johnny's Pops popsicles, Organic Coffee, Fresh Farm Baking, jams, pies, produce, and comfy nooks to sit in.

Finding the Farm
We are located on the Balaclava bike route, 2 blocks from the 49 bus stop. Please feel free to call us and ask us questions or book an event. We might be out in the field, so if we don't answer it isn't because we don't love you - leave us a voicemail and we'll get back to you as quick as a rabbit! 604-261-1295
